Tony D. Silva

Tony D. Silva, 70, of Billings, formerly of Gallup, New Mexico, passed away unexpectedly on March 23, 2019, at Billings Clinic. Tony was born in Gallup on June 5, 1948, to Joe and Julia (Herrera) Silva. He grew up in Gallup and worked for the City of Gallup in the Sanitation Department for many years.

Tony was an avid gardener and took great pride in his yard. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed a nice long walk, until his heath prevented him from doing so. He'd pick up aluminum cans along the way. Tony was proud of his Hispanic heritage and enjoyed listening to his Spanish and Mexican music.

He married Vivian Alderete in Gallup in 1964. They remained together until the end.

Tony lost his arm in an accident at work many years ago. He continued to work for the city for until it became much more difficult. He moved to Billings in 2001 to be closer to family.

He is survived by his wife, Vivian Silva; children Emilia (Pedro) Sanchez, Tony Silva, Jr., Stevan (Sarah) Silva, Paulita (Brian) Thompson, Andrea (Nate) West, Casandra Silva; grandchildren Tabitha, Luis, Dominic, Nick, Amanda, DJ, Malik, Isaac, Angelo, Izaiah, Jayle, Cruz, Miklo, Nehemiah, Kaiden, Jayce, Aunyssa, Arianna, Brianna, Emilliano, and Viviana; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Alizae, Arriano, Audrianna, Diamond, Amaeio, Elaina and Zoe; siblings Cheri, Elaine, Josephine, Patricia, Kaki, Victor, Ally, Thomas, Joe, Julian, Michael, Ronnie, Timmy, Ramona and Glenn.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and numerous siblings.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held in Gallup at a later date, where his urn will be buried with his mother.
