Vicki Lynn Hanchett Deleo

September 29, 1948 — October 27, 2022

Vicki Lynn Hanchett DeLeo passed away peacefully in her sleep the morning of Oct. 27, 2022, at the age of 74.

Vicki was born to John Hanchett and Marion Thelen Hanchett in Billings, Montana, on Sept. 29, 1948.

She grew up in Billings with her three brothers, two sisters and countless cousins. Vicki was known by some as a mischievous child. After her graduation from high school in 1966, she moved to California with her sister Linda and cousin Chris. While in California, she met and fell in love with Louis DeLeo. They were married on April 15, 1971. Their marriage lasted over 30 years until the passing of Louis on Oct. 20, 2001.

For over 40 years, Vicki and Louis made a life and home in St. Charles, Illinois, where they raised their two sons: Keith and Marc. She spent 21 years working in a job she loved: managing Town House Café. While the food was great, Vicki was the highlight. She loved the people and made an impact on everyone she met. Vicki was a second mother to many of the kids that worked at the Café. After her retirement in 2018, she moved back home to Billings.

Throughout her life, she touched so many people with her positivity, ability to tell a story, her great sense of humor and infectious laugh. Vicki had a heart for people and an ear for listening.

While she loved her sons, everyone knew that her three grandchildren, Sophia, Maxon and Jack, were the light of her life.

Heaven has gained an angel and she will be missed dearly by all.

Mom, thank you for being so wonderful.

Vicki was preceded in death by her husband, Louis DeLeo; parents John and Marion Hanchett; brother Chuck Hanchett; and her niece, Kim Sauther.

Vicki is survived by her sons, Keith (Amber) and Marc; grandchildren, Sophia, Maxon and Jack; siblings, Kathy (Vic), Linda, John (Eileen), Larry (Cindy); and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services will be held at noon on Wednesday, Nov. 2, at St. Patrick Co-Cathedral, 215 N. 31st St., Billings, MT 59101.
