Billings resident Violet R. Kramer passed away on Aug. 25, 2015, at the age of 94.
She was the fourth child of 10 children born to Eva and Fred Goodman. She was born in a small town called Hesper, Mont., on a cold winter day, Jan. 20, 1921, weighing barely 2 pounds.
In 1939, she married Solomon Kramer. Her husband died on Sept. 1, 1988. They were married for 49½ years.
Violet and her husband Solly farmed west of Billings till 1958. They then bought their first farm in Pompeys Pillar. They lived there for 43 years. In 1996, she sold the farm and ranch. Violet moved to Billings the same year.
She spent many years going to her six grandsons' sports games, including football, basketball, wrestling and track. After moving to Billings, she still went to basketball and softball games, rarely missing a game.
She was a school election judge and also primary and general election judge for 30 years, which she loved doing.
She is survived by two sons, Dick and Mona of Billings and Edward and Aileen, also of Billings. They were blessed with six grandsons, John and Brenda, Dan and Cindy, David, Joey and Jess, Jim and Marie, Jason and Leslie; three step-grandchildren, Lyn and Shane Stamm and Pam Feller; and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister and two brothers, Shirley Dawn and Bill of Molt, Bill and Janice of Billings, Tom and Mae of Livingston. Preceding her in death are her parents, Eva and Fred Goodman; three brothers, Raymond, Ed and Bob Goodman; and three sisters, Louise, Deloris and Esther.
Funeral services will be 1pm Monday at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary with interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
