Virginia (Vivian) Davis

Virginia “Gina” Elizabeth (Vivian) (Morledge) Davis passed away on Sept. 29, 2023, at the age of 86, at St. John’s cottages in Billings, Montana.

She was born on April 29, 1937 to George and Virginia Vivian in Butte, Montana. After graduating from Butte High in 1955, Virginia moved to Billings to attend Eastern Montana College. She graduated with a four-year teaching degree in 1959 and started teaching second grade at Taft Elementary School in South Billings.

She met her first husband, Roy Morledge Jr., at a Young Republicans dinner in February 1960 and they married later that year. Their only son, Roy Morledge III, was born in November 1961. After taking a few years off from teaching to care for her son, Virginia returned to teaching second grade in 1963 at the Huntley Project in Worden. She taught there until her retirement in 1985.

In 1975, Virginia met her second husband, Grant Davis, and they were married three years later. Virginia retired from teaching in Worden to accompany Grant on his frequent business trips. She loved traveling throughout the U.S. and even across the ocean to Ireland, England, and Italy for adventure. Virginia was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa, a teacher’s honorary sorority; Gamma sorority; and was active in P.E.A.K.S activities. For years, she loved working out with jazzercise and a personal trainer. She and Grant doted on their furry pet dogs and were often out walking in their neighborhood and the local parks. Virginia was preceded in death by husband Grant Davis in 2010.

Virginia will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her son, Roy V. Morledge III and his wife Vikki of Sammamish, Washington; and her two grandsons, Mason and Myles. She is also survived by her brother George Vivian and his wife Midge of Hayden, Idaho; and many nieces and nephews spread from coast to coast.
