Walter G. Holle

Walter G. Holle, 90, returned to his heavenly home on July 27, 2018 after having lived a full life. His love for family and friends was evident wherever he went. Walt was born to Walter and Kathryn Holle in Grand Rapids, Minnesota on February 14, 1928. He was the oldest of nine children and spent most of his youth in Whitetail, Montana. Even though he left Whitetail after graduation, you always knew where Walt was from – The monthly Daniels County breakfast in Billings was one of his greatest joys. Walt served in the Army which was highlighted by his time at West Point. After returning to Montana, he was involved in the wholesale plumbing business for many years where his greatest memories were all of the different people he met. He thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the First Alliance Church, where he excelled at encouraging others. Walt was married to Bette Hirst on October 22, 1958 in Billings, MT. They lived in Denver where their daughter was born and a son followed after they returned to Billings. Walt's love for sports was passed on to his children who became actively involved as soon as they could. You could always find Walt watching his kids and grandchildren participate in baseball, tennis, and soccer. When he wasn't doing that, he served as president for Burlington Little League and attended too many West High games to count. Walt loved to be outside whenever possible, whether it was watching sports, working on his yard, walking, or going out to Zoo Montana. Every time he went somewhere outside, it was like the first time as he always met someone new. Walt was always interested in where people lived and where they were from. He is dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate that he is home with his Creator. Walt is survived by his wife Bette; daughter Evasia; son and daughter in-law Mark and Deanna; grandchildren Mikayla, Jayce, Kelsey and Josh; great grandson Max; brother Bob Holle; sisters Connie Scheeler and Pat Snow. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Phillip, Dick, Jim, Doug and Steve. Walt's memorial will be at First Alliance Church at 11:00 a.m. on August 7, with a reception to follow. Rev. Adriaan Overbeeke will officiate the service.
