Wanda Betty Hofferber

Wanda Betty (Schuler) Hofferber, aged 91, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2024, in Billings, MT. She was born on December 16, 1933, in Linton, ND. Mother of four children, grandmother to 13 great-grandmother to 24, and great-great-grandmother to one.

Wanda was married on January 6, 1951, to Charles Hofferber, in Billings. They raised their children in Billings and, when the kids were older, they built a log cabin in the Crazy Mountains, where they lived for a few years. Wanda spent many hours researching and documenting genealogy. She enjoyed talking to people about her family and findings through her extensive research. She often would talk about her favorite German recipes, sometimes in German, and often reminisced about her parents and siblings. She sewed, knitted and painted throughout her life. She gave many handmade gifts to her grandchildren and found joy in giving them a piece of her creation.

Wanda was a beloved mother and is survived by her children, Inez (Pete) Johnson, Wayne Hofferber, Karen (Greg) Harcharik, and Holly (Craig) Swanke. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Hofferber; her sister, Esther Kuntz; her brother, Henry “Hank” Schuler; and her parents, Martha and Rudolf Schuler.
