Warren Lee Peterson was born on Jan. 10, 1953, in Crosby, North Dakota, to LaVerne and Lillian (Brensdal) Peterson, and died on May 9, 2024, in Billings.
He grew up on his family farm four miles outside of Westby, just across the Montana border into North Dakota. Warren attended the Westby School for all 12 years, graduating in 1971.
His mom was his third grade teacher. He then went to UND and obtained an associate’s degree in business. Upon his graduation, he moved to Billings, where his career was spent primarily in the retail field. His interests were people and his hobby was visiting.
Warren grew up with three brothers and a little sister, as well as many special aunts, uncles and cousins.
In 1977, he married Peggy Hirst (later divorcing). To this union, they welcomed their two beloved children: Jennifer and Wesley. Jennifer gave Warren the absolute joys of his life, his grandchildren, Wesley and Toby.
Since mid-2018, he was in and out of various health facilities and nursing homes, the latest being Eagle Cliff/River Ridge of Billings, where he lived contently from mid-2022 until his death.
Warren was preceded in death by his son Wesley and both parents. He leaves behind his daughter Jennifer, son-in-law Tyson Bradish and his grandchildren; brothers Lowell, Neil (Debbie) and Jim (Cindy); sister Kay (Chris) Heine; his many nieces and nephews; his good friend, Steve Frank; as well as many other special friends and family.
We would like to thank all his caregivers over the years for all their loving care. Thank you, Amy Carter, for your kind pastoral care.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, May 17, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary, 1001 Alderson Ave. in Billings. Viewing will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 16, also at Michelotti-Sawyers.
