Wayne D. Premo was born on May 31, 1932, in Billings, to Walter and Luella (Brier) Premo. Wayne was the only boy out of five children: Ella Marie (passed away 1923); Pearl (Tom) Stapleton (deceased); Joy (Bob) Reamy (deceased); and Wilma (Bob) Vincent. Wayne passed away on Nov. 21, 2022, at St. Vincent Hospital, surrounded by his loved ones.
Wayne was raised on a small farm in Fromberg, Montana, worked beside his father and mother until he was drafted into the Army in 1952. Wayne married the love of his life, Barbara E. Premo, on Oct. 13, 1955. They moved to a farm in Fromberg, where Wayne worked with his dad and also drove truck for Texaco. Over the years, they lived in Washington, Texas, Colorado and eventually retired in Montana.
While retired, Wayne could not sit around, so he went back to work as a teacher for Sage Trucking School until he permanently retired. During that time, Wayne had a calling from God to become the pastor for Community of Christ, alongside Gil Martell, who became a loving family member.
Wayne and Barbara had five children: Trudy Cozzens (Troy), Barbara Carbery (Greg), Kim Premo, Wayne D. Premo Jr. and Timothy Premo. Wayne was loved by all and touched many lives. They had 22 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren who loved him dearly.
Wayne was preceded in passing by his wife, Barbara; sisters Ella Marie, Pearl and Joy; also grandson T.J. Davis and granddaughter Rebecca Reichert and many other family members.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary, 1001 Alderson Ave. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, at Michelotti-Sawyers. A lunch will follow.
