William Hugo Oser

William Hugo Oser passed away peacefully on February 19, 2021.

He is survived by two daughters: Connie Oser and Barbara Potzman (Dennis); five grandchildren: Josie Donnelly (Chris), Betsy Dernbach (Adam), Alec Healow, Hugh Healow, Sheilah Healow (Jeremy Dudley) and four great-grandchildren: Sloane Donnelly, Dyllan Donnelly, Walker Dernbach and Westyn Dernbach.  He is also survived by his life-long "best friend", Bruce Crippen. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Imo Oser; four older sisters: Katherine, Anne, Bette and Norma; his wife, Raetta Stevens Oser and his son-in-law, David Healow.

The last year of bill's life was challenging. He could no longer see (macular degeneration) and his hearing was almost gone. His favorite pastimes were reading, playing gin and having conversations. Those simple pleasures became difficult. He had always been a great listener so hearing loss was a struggle. He loved the outdoors but could no longer see the animals. He finally got too tired to fight.

Bill saw no value in denigrating another human being. He was devoted to his family. His commitment to his wife and daughters was unwavering. He was proud to work as a Certified Life Underwriter for 35+ years. He tackled many other business ventures, volunteer positions and hobbies. He was a peaceful role model and mentor to many. Bill lived a long, honest life.
