Jerry Kriskovich

Gerald LeRoy Kriskovich passed into the arms of his beloved savior on May 26, 2018, in Billings, Montana.

Jerry was born in Anaconda on April 28, 1946, to Matthew and Florence Kriskovich. At the age of just 13, he met Eileen Grosz, whom he affectionately called “Leensie.” They married in 1966 and recently celebrated 51 years of marriage together.

A talented musician, Jerry spent many years playing the piano and organ for local churches and community organizations. He enjoyed playing golf and bowling, and he was an avid reader and cook. He was involved for many years in various community organizations and diligently served in leadership, teaching and lay preaching through his churches. Jerry had his own insurance and tax business for over 40 years. Most of all, Jerry was a loyal, loving and big-hearted husband, father, brother and friend.

Jerry is survived by his devoted wife, Eileen; and their two children, Mark (Kristen) Kriskovich and Melinda (Shawn) Ashmore. “Big Papa” was deeply loved by his grandchildren, Annika and Aleksander Kriskovich, and Andrew, Alexandra, Nicholas, Sarah and Christian Ashmore. He is also survived by his sisters, Janet (Richard) Vandeventer and Marian (Erwin) Struble; and brother, Bruce Kriskovich.

Receiving of friends will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 1, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 2, at St. Pius X Parish, with a dessert reception immediately following the interment.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Jerry’s memory.

  1. I am very sorry for your loss. I met Jerry when he went through rica and have enjoyed knowing him ever since. Prayers for your family

  2. My heart is heavy hearing of the loss of a very special friend leaving this life. My friendship with Jerry goes back to Bible college days at Northwest Bible College in Kirkland, Washington. My prayers are for his wife, family and many friends asking the Holy Spirit to minister powerful truths of a great event to soon follow as we meet in the presence of Jesus for all eternity. Heaven is sounding sweeter all the time.

  3. Eileen, my thoughts and prayers are with your family, Jerry sold my family our first insurance policy fifty-two years ago, he had handled all my policies and investments very wisely, and dearly thank him for all the decisions he helped me make, a very truthful and loving Man.

  4. Denelle & I are deeply saddened by the news of Jerry’s passing. A good heart has stopped beating, a good soul rose to heaven. All my life I will remember his kindness & love. Jerry was an inspiration to me and a great loss to all the people who know him. The friendship we had will never be forgotten from this day until we meet again. It’s comforting to know that Jerry has reached his final destination in life and is now united with our Lord & Savior.

Our dear friend has moved to a far better place. Oh, how we miss him here though. We have known you kids for at least 45 years. We watched Mark and Minnie grow into very loving adults. We look forward to seeing Jerry and our other loved ones in Glory. I imagine Jerry playing a piano concert in Heaven for Kevin and the other loved ones who are already there. We love you Eileen, Mark and Melinda.

  6. Eileen,
I was sorry to hear Jerry has left you though I am sure he is quite happy feasting at the Lord’s table. I still have good memories of when we shared the duplex on Janie when Melinda and Mark were small.
Jerry was a wonderful Bible teacher. I still can remember him quite vividly describing the temptations of Eve, “The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.” Ever so often that comes to mind when I consider my actions, if they are righteous or otherwise.
You and your husband definitely left a mark on my life. Thank you.

  9. So sad to hear of the passing of my high school classmate. May his family and friends find the comfort that they deserve.

  10. My heart aches for you all. I know all too well the void left by the loss of a beloved husband, and that of a beloved father. Hold onto the peace that passes all understanding – it will bring security in the difficult days ahead. What a treasure we all have knowing that Jerry is not resting in peace, he is dancing and making beautiful music while worshipping the God he served so faithfully. It comforts me knowing that Jerry and Kevin are together in Glory. I’m unable to come out to the service, but I wish I could be there, Eileen, if only to offer hugs. Sending you all prayers for comfort and much love and support.
